Jacksonbelle Tuesday: Pink Paislee!

Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful morning here in Orlando! :D We are headed to Sea World today! It's going to be exciting!

Anyway, today is Jacksonbelle Tuesday so I am sharing this card with you! The challenge this week is to use either Pink Paislee paper or October Afternoon paper so I picked out some Pink Paislee Enchanting, Pleasant patterned paper and Pink Paislee Office Lingo, Lunch Hour patterned paper from the Jacksonbelle store! I just love these two pieces together! They are absolutely beautiful! The stamp I used is the Lizzie Anne Cupcake set. I colored it with my Stampin' Up! markers and blender pen. I then added some Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz to the sprinkles. I also sewed the edge of the strip and added a rub-on to the ribbon!

Well, that's it for today's card! Make sure to check out this week's challenge details on the Jacksonbelle blog as well as the other Jacksonbelle girls!

My Lil' Rustic Cowboy!

You don't get much cuter than him, huh? :D I have been in love with this cowboy for quite a while now and didn't realize how much I missed him! Hehe! I pulled him out for an older Lizzie Anne Designs sketch since they are having their Anniversary Celebration and got creative! Mr. Cowboy was colored in with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I also wanted to give my card a rustic look so I used the faux burnt edges technique on the image panel and distressed some of the layers as well as sponged them with some Tim Holtz Anique Linen Distress Ink. The designer paper I decided to use is from the Cosmo Cricket "Mr. Campy" line. I then decided to dust off my sewing machine and after MANY hours of trying to figure out why it wouldn't work, I sewed around the edge of my card! One little tip before sewing: DON'T SEW THE CARD SHUT! Yup, learned that one the hard way! It was like I completely forgot HOW to sew! Haha! Ok, anyway, I stamped the sentiment on my star/circle combination and distressed it up a bit. I then added some twine and vintage brads for the finished look!

Well, that's it for today's post! I hope you enjoyed today's card! I will be back tomorrow with my Jacksonbelle Challenge!

Be Prepared...

For some horrible pictures! I just realized that my husband took that good camera which means I am stuck with one that takes really awful pictures! I am not kidding when I say I took 30 pictures of this card and didn't like one of them! I finally settled for this one after I poked and prodded it for 15 minutes. I seriously did so much adjusting that I wanted to scream! What's really sad is that I really love this card and the picture doesn't do it justice.

Anyway, I created this card for the Lizzie Anne Designs sketch challenge. I haven't been able to participate in one of these challenges in FOREVER so I decided it was time. I pulled out my much neglected cupcake image and went to work! :D I paired this sweet (pun intended) with some brand new SU! paper as well as some pumpkin pie ribbon and brads. For the finishing touch I also added some Stickles.

Well, that's it for tonight! I am going to bed but I promise to share more tomorrow!

Oh My Goodness, Oh My Goodness!

Wowza! Last night and today have been INCREDIBLE (well...for the most part...I woke up this morning with pink eye!)! Last night Nick and I went shopping and I found some really great deals that I want to share with you! However, before I get to that I have to share the most exciting part! Beth picked me to be the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast this week! :D Can you say "overjoyed"??? I discovered it last night when I went to check my email and couldn't figure out why I had received so many comments in my gallery! I then read one of the comments that said "Congrats on being the featured stamper!" I was so excited I was shaking! Nick though I had lost it! Haha. It was like midnight when I checked so of course I couldn't sleep! Anyway, thank you to everyone for your incredibly sweet comments! They have meant so much to me! :D Now...I do have some pictures and a card to share with you!

First of all, here are my great finds! These first few things were found at Hobby Lobby. I went in with two 40% off coupons (Nick and I each get to use one...we know how to work the system...hehe) and we immediately headed to the stamp section. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for...I just knew I wanted to use my coupons. So we got to the clear stamp section and guess what we discovered! Hobby Lobby got some new stamps in! :D They have the Changito clear sets (which I can't wait to buy) and the adorable cupcake sets (which is also on my wish list), along with tons of others from Stampendous!. However, I had to wait on all of those because I found these two incredible sets! They had this amazing Birds Galore set by Inkadikado AND this adorable Mindy's Zoo set by Autumn Leaves that I have been eying online! It was heaven! I had been trying to find both sets for a long time now! The Mindy's Zoo set was $14.99 and the Inkadinkadoo set was $9.99 but with my 40% coupons they were a steal! Sorry for the ramblings but I had just had to tell you!

I also knew when I went to Hobby Lobby that I wanted to find a basket to put my single wood mounted stamps in. I had been struggling to figure out how to store them and I got the basket idea from Mindy! I just LOVE her basket but don't need anything that big yet so I bought this one! It was a steal too! It was 50% off and only cost me $5! I couldn't believe it! I just think it is gorgeous! :D

After we went to Hobby Lobby we decided to go to Ross (for those of you who don't know what Ross is, it's a lot like Gordman's). I can always find a great deal at Ross and this trip was no different! I had been looking for something to hold all of my SU! magazines, catalogs, and binders along with some other things and this basket was perfect! I didn't know how perfect it was until I got home and put everything in it! Can you believe how perfect those binders fit??? I couldn't! So...that was my next big find.

And finally, my last big find of the day were these amazing shoes! When my SIL was visiting she needed to borrow my shoes so I let her and don't you know...she ruined them. I knew I was going to be needing some new shoes so I just decided to look in the shoe section and I found these for only $20! The best part about them...you can change the colors of the stripes! Woohoo! :D Isn't that exciting??? I think so.

Well, thanks for dealing with all of my excitement! I was overwhelmed, let me tell you. :D I am now going to share a card with you to show my appreciation! I will probably be back later with a new card using my new stamps!

I made this card for one of Lizzie Anne's birthday bash sketch challenges! I struggled to ink up the flowers but finally got them the way I wanted. I then added some glitter to the petals and crystal effects to the centers. I added this fabulous gingham ribbon and paper pierced along side it! I do want to mention that I have discovered how dependent I am on sketch challenges so I decided that I am going to challenge myself to use my own sketches at least twice a week!

Have a great Sunday afternoon!

Lots of Business to Take Care of!

So, I have been a really bad blogger! :( I have received TONS of RAKs and TONS of awards and I have not posted them yet! I apologize to all of you that have either sent me RAKs or given me an award! I have appreciated each and every one of them SO MUCH! I just don't have enough time in a day! Anyway, I will be back with those in an hour or so. For now I am going to share a card with all of you wonderful ladies! :D I made this card for one of the Lizzie Anne sketch challenges that is going on over there! Lizzie Anne is celebrating their 2nd birthday and they are celebrating ALL MONTH LONG! It's super exciting for me because Lizzie Anne is by far, one of my favorite stamp companies! They have the most adorable sets at low cost! :D If you haven't checked them out, DO IT! Hehe! Sorry, I feel like I am a committing SU! affair when I talk like that. SU! still rocks. I am so excited for their new catalog too! Ok, I am rambling. Anyway, I wasn't sure how I felt about this card but Nick insisted that it was really cool so I guess it must be. Haha! He is my biggest critic (besides myself) and I take his opinion very seriously. He usually tells me what he doesn't like about my cards too! So since he liked this one, I figured I do too. I sponged around the edges of the dp so that it would look "westerny" and rugged. I think it looks a little burnt, which is cool. I then roughed up the edges of the paper/cardstock with my fingernail. It has a nice effect and it's a cheap technique! :D I then added my Wal-Mart twine and brads for a finished look. So, what do you think? Are you in love with Lizzie Anne stamps yet??? If not, stay tuned, because I will have a few more cards from the Lizzie Anne challenges! Be sure to check back later for my RAK posts and award posts, along with today's SCS challenge card. Sorry for my ramblings. I truly appreciate those of you who stick with me because I'm not sure I could do it! :D

What day is it???

I keep forgetting that today is Tuesday! For some reason it feels like Monday. Maybe that is because today was the first day I had to go into work, I'm not sure. Haha! Anyway, I did end up making a card this morning but I wasn't able to get it finished and posted until now. Sorry about that! For this card I used Lauren's sketch for this card because it looked like it would be pretty simple to work with! Lauren has such an incredible blog and I absolutely love her work! I always want to take part in her challenges but I forget about them! :( I decided that her's was first on my list this week! I still had some of these scraps laying on my desk from the Riley card that I made so I went with them! I also had this stamp out so I used it! I didn't have a whole lot of time so I worked with what was in front of me! I actually really like how this card turned out too. I was originally going to put my Howdy sentiment on the front but couldn't find a good place so I decided to add it to the inside along with another piece of scrap! I colored the little cowboy in with my SU! Markers and inked up the sides of the image with my chocolate chip ink and sponge dauber. Other than that, I think this card is pretty self explanatory! Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your evening! I think I am going to have lots of time to stamp because the hubby is going to go do what he loves (play guitar) with some friends! Bye!

Hey Cupcake!

For today's Ways To Use it Challenge on SCS we were asked to make score lines on our card. I made score lines right above and below the dp but you can barely see it in the picture! :( I also made this card for the MFT's designer challenge which was to make a birthday card in celebration to MFT's 2 year anniversary! I don't have any MFT birthday stamps so I had to use the next best thing. While I was at it, I also used Lizzie Anne's sketch challenge for this card! I really like how this card turned out but the picture just isn't giving it justice. The lighting has just been horrible here these past couple of days! It's driving me crazy! Hehe! Well, Nick and I are off to spend the weekend together! I am looking forward to having some alone time with him! I will still post tomorrow's Cupcake Challenge card so stay tuned for that!

I Didn't Have Time to Stamp! :(

So I completely forgot that I had to work today until late last night and of course I didn't wake up early enough to make a card. It was just so wonderful actually getting to sleep with my hubby after 2 weeks of being away from him! I didn't want to get out of bed! :D I didn't realize how much I take having him home for granted until he left me! Anyway, once I got home from work this evening I had to make supper and then after supper Nick's sister (who is still here) wanted us to take her house/apartment hunting. :( I was bummed because I had really been dying to use my new stamps. I also knew that I wasn't going to have a terrific card ready to show you all! Sorry about that. This is the best I could do. I made this card sometime last week BEFORE I had figured out how to color an image properly! This card isn't horrible, it's just not my favorite. I guess that's all I have for you tonight. I do have to apologize for the late post, the lack of stamping, and the short description! I hope you all stop by tomorrow because I PROMISE I will have a much better post! To make it up to you, I will even post two! ;) Thanks so much for sticking with me! I appreciate all of you so much!

I'm Dragging Today!

Good afternoon everyone! I am sorry I am posting so late. After I got home from church I decided to eat lunch and watch a movie. I have been so exhausted lately from all of this running around I have had to do and I just needed to lay on the couch and relax. Well, after I finished watching the movie I decided to lay down for a short 30 min. nap. Well, a 30 min. nap turned into an hour and 30 min. nap! Haha. I was sound asleep too because Leanne stopped by and JOLTED me awake! I was so disoriented that I didn't even know where I was. Haha. So, I must apologize for slacking! :D

For this card I used Ashley's Brainwave challenge. Her sketch this week was a fun one! I love the 3 circle idea as the image! This card came along fairly quickly until I realized that it would fit this past week's Dutch Dare challenge. The challenge was to use 3 pieces of ribbon (already done) and 3 buttons. I had already planned on putting brads on both sides of the sentiment so I figured that buttons would look just as good. The problem I then faced was where to put the 3rd button. I tried every place imaginable until I finally had the idea to place it on top of the ribbon! I tried it and I liked it so that is where it stayed! I do want to mention that I used my SU! Markers to color in the images. I hurried so I am sure I could have done a better job, but overall I think it turned out pretty good! I paper pieced the cupcake cup again (I am so glad I discovered that technique). I think that sums up this card! Just in case you are curious, the cupcake image and sentiment are from Lizzie Anne and the adorable gift image is from a Studio G dollar stamp set that my secret sis sent me! Thanks so much sis! :D

Well, have a TERRIFIC Sunday afternoon! Later this evening I am going over to Leanne's to scrapbook! I have only ever made those 2 scrapbook pages so I hope things go well! Hehe. I am sure Leanne will teach me everything she knows and I will come home a pro because of it! She certainly is talented! I'm gushing, but I'm being honest! Take care!

Hey Cupcake!

I did it. I gave in. I am posting another card. Do you ever have that card that you just can't wait to post? Both this one and my Howdy card are cards I couldn't wait to share with you! :D This is another stamp that I ordered from Lizzie Anne. Isn't it cute??? I realized, once I joined Taylor's Cupcake Challenge team, that I did not have any cupcake stamps so I decided I needed this one! For $4.99 too! You can't get much better than that! I am just so excited that I found them! They have the most adorable stamps for a really good price!

For this card I used a Lizzie Anne sketch. Every Monday, one of the girls posts a sketch challenge on the Lizzie Anne forum. This week's sketch was a little tricky. I had to do a lot of thinking before I knew what I wanted my card to look like. I am loving the border on this card. At first I was just going to stamp the sentiment once but I didn't stamp it quite where I wanted so I decided to see what it would look like if I stamped it as a border. I LOVE how it turned out! I also added the paper piercing as a last touch. It's a little crooked, but I think it was a nice addition. Oh, I would also like to mention that I did my first paper piecing EVER on this card. I am not sure if you can tell but the cupcake cups are dp from the My Mind's Eye set that I bought this week. I love the look that paper piecing can give an image! It is easy to do too! Well, that's all I have for this card. I used my SU! Markers to color the cupcakes. Just in case you were wondering.

Have a fantastic night! I am going to go pick out a movie. Not sure what yet. It's not near as fun to watch a movie by yourself. I am so ready for my hubby to be home! :( I miss him like crazy! Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow after church!

Howdy Partner!

Hehe. Don't you just love this little guy? I do! This is another stamp that I got from Lizzie Anne Designs. I needed some little boy stamps and this guy is perfect! I made this card for Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try. I kind of cheated and flipped the sketch. My little guy was just too tall! I also used Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge. Here is the inspiration piece. I haven't done a Splitcoast challenge in weeks! I have really been missing them. Things just aren't the same when I don't get my daily challenge done. Hehe.

Alright, a few details on this card. Leanne and I were talking about trying some Copics because we have seen so many beautiful cards where the image was colored. In the past, I have not been very successful when it comes to coloring with my SU! markers. However, I decided to sit down and watch a few Copic tutorials to see what technique people use to get their images to look so gorgeous! Now, I did NOT use Copics on my image. I used my SU! Markers and I think it turned out pretty darn good. Especially for my first attempt. I am extremely relieved to discover this too, because those Copics are ExPenSive! :D If you want, I could try to cook up a little tutorial on how I colored this little guy in. I am working on improving and hopefully it starts to look even better! Any comments about Copics VS. SU! Markers would be greatly appreciated. I am still not sure what makes the Copics better but I would love to hear your thoughts!

That's all for now. I might possibly show up again with yet another card. I haven't decided yet. I sometimes like to save my cards just in case I have a day where I don't have time to be creative. We'll see what happens! :D Enjoy your evening everyone!

*Funny story, I just spent hours watering the yard because we haven't had rain in forever and low and behold, it just started to rain. Go figure. Hehe. *

New Lizzie Anne Stamps!

Along with my new Verve stamps I also got some new Lizzie Anne stamps! I ordered 4 different stamps from Lizzie Anne Designs so I will be showing you more cards with my new stamps later too. For this card I used Jen's del Muro's Sketch For You To Try. I used my new My Mind's Eye paper too. I inked the image up with my markers and put crystal effects in the center of the flowers to add some dimension. Overall I really like this card. I am still not sure about the brads. I think they are ok.

Thanks for stopping by this evening! I am home alone this week because my hubby is in PA on a youth trip. I couldn't go on this one because I had my teaching conference. I miss him like crazy! Well, that's all for now! Have a great night!
