Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #35

I am finally back with another Cupcake Challenge! :) I wasn't able to do the sketch last week because I was so sick. I am sorry about that. Anyway, today's is a fun one! I picked out this Hawaii Papaya dsp for the squares to go along with the ribbon. I then used one of my mom's stamp sets for the image! Well, this is going to be a short post for now because I am pretty busy this morning but I will try to add more details later! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Before you leave, make sure you check out Taylor's blog as well as this week's Featured Cupcake Sampler, Frances!

Want to see more??? Sure you do! :D You should also check out the other girls' cards as well! You won't want to miss them!

I'm Alive!

Hi everyone! It's me, the sick one! First off I just want to say THANK YOU! The get well wishes just kept coming and coming! You ladies are so great! I actually can't believe how sick I got. I guess I was due because I literally had not been sick in over a year! In college I was sick all of the time so I am not sure what happened last year! I guess the relief of completing college was just so refreshing that I never felt stressed. Who would have known??? Anyway, I am still recovering. It has moved to my chest and my students are always afraid I might cough up my lungs, but they are getting used to it! Haha! I haven't felt up to creating anything yet but I do have a swap that I can finally share! I took part in a fun Paper Pretties swap (my first swap ever) and really like how my card turned out. I think I can finally share it since almost all of the girls have received theirs now. Without further ado...here it is.

I'm Extremely Sick!

Hi everyone! Sorry for not getting my posts up as planned. We arrived in Iowa Thursday night and I had a scratchy throat. I woke up Friday not feeling well and it just got worse as the day went on. By Saturday morning I thought I had reached my illness peak but apparently I was wrong because I feel as if I am dying right now. We did drive through the night and arrive home this morning though so I am glad to have that over with. My dear husband is so amazing, he drove 9 of the 12 hours because I was too sick to sit up, let alone drive. Anyway, I did come home to a nice box of Stampin' Up! goodies that I want to play with but am too sick to even attempt it. I will hopefully be better tomorrow! Thanks for sticking with me! I appreciate it so much.

Happy Birthday Bella

Good morning everyone! I am currently at a hotel somewhere in Kansas. We are on our way to Iowa for a wedding that my hubby is in. It will be so nice to see my family but I am not looking forward to the humidity that they are having there! Anyway, I wanted to share a card with you before we left and this is it! :) I made this card for Jen del Muro's sketch challenge. The sketch was a lot of fun but to make it even better she challenged us to use Bellas on our card. Now, I have yet to get a Bella stamp (although there are so many I want) but my dear friend Monika sent me some fun images so I pulled one out! Thanks so much girl! :) I just love this one! She is so adorable. I honestly don't know which one she is though so if you could help me out that would be great! I colored her with my SU! markers (and blender pen). The dp is from the old prints pack dsp. I am still trying to use it up before I get the newest prints pack! I also used more of my Flower Fusion Two with the brads! Well, that's all I have time to share today. My hubby is out of the shower now! Have a great day! I will try to get a card posted tomorrow!

Friends Furever

I love this adorable MFT set! I loved it the minute I saw it! However, it wasn't until I won it from Carolyn King that I realized JUST how much I loved it! Haha! I pulled it out to use it for the first time on Sunday and just love how the card turned out! I colored the image using my watercolor paper, SU! markers, and blender pens. For the sketch I used the OCC sketch challenge but altered it a bit. I paired the image with the Hawaii Papaya dsp again along with some tangerine tango ribbon and brads (which are actually hard to see).

That's all I have for today. We are getting ready to go to Iowa so I am not sure how I will do with my posting throughout the rest of the week. I will do my best! Have a great day everyone!

Stamps: MFT

Beach Bum!

Good morning! Today will be a quick post because I do not have a lot of time. I just wanted to share this card that I made using my new Paper Pretties stamps. I just love this fun little guy. He makes me want to hold on to summer for a little bit longer! I made this card for the sketch challenge that Danielle posted over on the Paper Pretties forum. Her sketch is a square but I don't have any square envelopes and I wanted to mail this card so I made it the normal card size. I colored the image using my SU! markers and I added crystal effects to highlight certain areas. Well, that's all I have time to share today! Take care!

Stamps: Paper Pretties (Beach Bum)
Paper: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Summer Picnic dsp, Bali Breeze dsp

Go Out On a Limb

Good Monday morning! Is it seriously Monday already? Wow does the time fly! Anyway, I spent all afternoon yesterday, stamping so I could have cards to share this week. Hopefully they last me awhile! This is the first card I made. It is for last Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge. I wanted to use my new There She Goes stamps so I pulled this fabulous set called "Branching Out". What I love about this set is how you can build your own tree! How fun is that? For the paper I used my Hawaii Papaya dsp and then pulled the color combination from it. In order to get the ribbon to only wrap around part of the card, I used my exacto knife to slice through the card front. I did it this way because in the sketch the stripes don't go all the way across. I also added crystal effects to my leaves for some added dimension. I actually really like how this card turned out. It is such a clean and fun card. Well, I guess that's all I have for now! I have to get ready to teach! Have a fantastic day everyone!

Boo!

Good evening everyone! Sorry for the late post today. I actually don't know why I didn't get a card posted earlier. I really have no excuse! Haha! I wanted to share this card with you today though. It was so quick and easy to make! I used the Taylored Expressions Halloween Key Ingredients Kit for everything except the letters. The letters are Thickers that I bought at Archiver's a couple of weeks ago. However, if you didn't have any Thickers you could always use some chipboard letters and cover them with the amazing black glitter that comes in the Halloween kit. I do not have any chipboard letters so I couldn't try that. Anyway, that's about all there is to this card.

I did find time quite a bit of time to stamp today so I will have some cards to share while I am back in Iowa this week. I hope to find time to make some more too! Well, that's all for tonight! A quick post for a quick card! Take care!

A Simple Sympathy Card

A man from our church died this past week and his funeral is on Monday so I wanted to make a sympathy card for his dear wife. I actually didn't have any sympathy stamps until I recieved my new There She Goes sets in the mail Thursday! The set I used was "Here For You" and it is such a beautiful sympathy set. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for this card too. Since I didn't have a whole lot of time to stamp like I had planned, I made it a quick card. I pulled a piece of Urban Garden dsp for the larger rectangular panel and then stamped this fabulous quote and embossed it with white ep. I am not sure if you can read it but it says "Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache: but those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind. May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends." Isn't that just amazing? What a touching quote. Anyway, this card is absolutely gorgeous in real life and I couldn't get it to photograph like I had hoped but I didn't have time to try again so hopefully I will have the chance later. I just wish you could see the true beauty of it. Well, that's it for today! I have to take a test this morning so if you could remember to say a quick prayer for me, that would be fantastic! I NEED to pass this thing the first time. It is too expensive to have to retake! Enjoy your Saturday and I will be back tomorrow with another card!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #33!

Good morning all! I am only an hour late with this post...hehe. Sorry! I didn't fall asleep last night until close to 2 and decided I needed to sleep in this morning! Actually, I had every intention of waking up to post on time...but...obviously it didn't happen! :) Either way, here it is!

I wasn't so sure of this card at first but it is really starting to grow on me. I wanted to use these adorable stacked cupcakes from the new Taylored Expressions set "Sweet Celebrations" and the oval looked so bare on the sides so I added some much neglected prima flowers! I colored in the petals so they matched the paper a little better and gave them some stripes for dimension. I then added some dew drops for a little shine. I watercolored the cupcakes using my watercolor paper, SU! markers, and blender pens. I then cut out the image and popped it up on dimensionals. The corners have been paper pierced for a little added touch too. Other than that, I think this card is pretty self-explanatory!

Make sure you stop by Taylor's blog to see her card and today's Featured Cupcake Sampler's card! Today's Featured Cupcake Sampler is the fabulous Lori Craig! She has so much talent so you will not want to miss her card OR her blog!

Want to see more??? Sure you do! :D You should also check out the other girls' cards as well! You won't want to miss them!

Well, that's it for now! As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I plan on getting a lot of stamp time in today! I finally finished up some swaps that I have been working on so I have some me time now! :D My hubby is home today though because it is so cold and rainy here that they have decided work will be close to impossible (they can't stucco when it is too cold or rainy) so I get to spend some QT with him too. I will hopefully have a post up tomorrow as well. I take my test tomorrow! Boo! Haha! Ok, take care ladies!

A MyTime Sketch

Good Thursday morning! I am SO glad that Thursday is finally here. That means it's the last day of school for us Westcliffe teachers! Woohoo! I REALLY need a day off. Yesterday was a horrible day for me and when I got home I went to lay down on the couch to relax and ended up zonking out! I didn't wake up for 2 hours solid! It felt good.

Anyway, I made this card for Lauren Meader's sketch challenge. I loved the simplicity of the sketch this week and I tried to make my card just as simple. I am not sure how I feel about the color combination I used though. It was one I pulled from the new in-color combination chart that SU! puts out. Hmm...

Well, this is going to be another short post. I need to get to school! Have a great day everyone! Take care!

Cracked Glass!

Good morning! I wanted to share with you this gorgeous card that I made last night. Stampin' Up! added a new video to their demonstrator website (another great perk) that shows how to do the technique, Cracked Glass. So I decided to try it out for the first time! I am just shocked at how easy it was too! When it came to the cracking part my husband said "That didn't sound good!" but then he saw what happened and he said "Woah! That's so cool!" Hehe! I love to see his reactions sometimes! Anyway, I love the results that I got from this technique! So cool!

For the image I stamped my Upsy Daisy stamp in regal rose and then heat embossed over the top of it using my glossy glaze enamel. The sentiment was heat embossed using white ep too. I used a scrap of my Urban Garden dsp underneath the image and then added some regal rose ribbon on top. The card base is basic gray and the layer under the image is baja breeze. If you would like any more information about this card, let me know!

I hope everyone has a great day! It's Wednesday! That means only two more days until Friday! :D I am going to spend my Friday stamping because I won't have a chance on Saturday. I have to be in Colorado Springs by 8 a.m. Saturday morning for a test! Yuck!

Do you like this set? Would you like to have it? Guess what...you can! :D It is on sale right now until Sept. 30! You can get this set along with some other great sets at 15% off! All you have to do is click on my Stampin' Up! Website and select Shop Now!

I am so excited to let you know that Stampin' Up! FINALLY has online ordering! :D I know that before I was a demonstrator I had always wished I could place my own order online and now YOU can! What a thrill this is! There are also some huge benefits of placing an order online. Not only do you get the luxury of putting an order in whenever you want, you also get, what are called, Stampin' Rewards. Stampin' Rewards are basically the same as Hostess Benefits, only you don't have to actually be a hostess! However, you can only get Stampin' Rewards if you order through my Stampin' Up! website. If you do wish to place a Stampin' Up! order all you have to do is click on this link and then click: Shop Now!

Also, I have a great deal that I will share with you later so make sure you stop by to see what it is!

Happy Haunting!

Good evening everyone! Sorry for the late post today! I completely forgot to post this before I left for school this morning! I seriously wish I could get on blogger while at school so that I could work on it over my lunch period. Oh well!

Anyway, I decided to pull out the fabulous new Taylored Expression's Frightful Night set that you can buy over at the Taylored Expressions store. I just love the images in this set. They are so fun and simple! This card seriously came together in a snap! The hardest part was coloring in the house and even that wasn't too difficult with the right materials (my SU! markers and blender pens)! I love the versatility of this set too. I definitely could have made this a regular, non-Halloween card if I had wanted to. The house, moon, and stars by themselves would make a gorgeous scenery card! However, I am in a Halloween kick so I made it a little spooky! I added the black cat and bats to the scene and used Halloween colors to give it a Halloween feel. I added some crystal effects to the windows, the moon, and the stars. I also popped the house up on dimensionals for a little added effect. It's hard to see it in the picture but it's there! :D

Well, I hope that you are loving these new stamps as much as I am! If you do purchase the stamps and you would like to share your creations with me, just send me a link and I will stop by! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today! I truly appreciate it!

It's Monday Already????

Wow! It's crazy how much I take Friday for granted! I can not believe how much shorter the weekend feels when I don't get Friday off! Fridays are my days to clean and stamp. If I don't have that day, I don't feel like I have time to get anything done. I especially love Friday's because I can start it off right by posting my cupcake challenge card AND doing Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge. Anyway, my husband says to me "Welcome to the real world." and I have decided, I don't want to experience the "real world" very often! Haha!

Well, I did get the chance to do Beate's sketch. I squeezed it in before bed last night and I must have been half asleep because there are some things that just seem off when I look at it. I am not sure what it is. It may just be my crazy imagination (aka: pickyness). Either way, I finished it! I finally was able to use my lovely felt flowers and my Say It With Scallops stamps. I also pulled the color combination from the Urban Garden designer paper. I think the rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory, so I will leave it at that. This picture kind of looks yellow but I think that is partly due to the vanilla background. I couldn't get white to look right. It was clashing with the vanilla on the card. Anyway, that's it for today! Have a fabulous Monday...if you can! :D I am sure I will enjoy my day at school. I hope to have more time to stamp tonight too because my husband is having some boys over. Yippee! Alright, take care ladies!

FINALLY! I Stamped!

After a long and exhausting week of school, my body finally got so wore out that it decided to get sick. This weekend Nick and I both ended up feeling pretty ill. We layed down today after church to take a nap and slept for 3 solid hours! I was shocked that I could sleep that long after a full night's rest. Anyway, Friday Nick brought home a new cabinet that someone was going to dump so we decided it would be the perfect storage for my stamping supplies. We are in the process of altering it a little but so far it is working out great! When we get it completed, I will share the pictures with you. Nick also bought me a new daylight lamp that is amazing! I can finally take pictures at night and have them turn out fairly decent! This picture was just taken a couple of minutes ago so you can see what I mean!

Anyway, I made this card for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I really liked the sketch and enjoyed playing around with it. For the image I pulled my Stitched Exotics set out and started playing around with the stamps. I embossed both the flower and the flourish by stamping the image in versamark first and then the selected color. I used my glossy glaze enamel for this type of embossing. I love the fun yet elegant look that this card has. The pearls definitely add to the elegance of it but the fun paper adds a kind of funky feel.

Well, that's all I have for now! Thanks for patiently waiting on my post! I hope you enjoy your night!

One Last Project...Er...Projects!

Before I go to bed, I must share this last group of projects that I created for the Taylored Expressions release! I made this card using the Sweet Celebration set and the Birthday Boy Key Ingredients Kit! To see all of the details on these products visit the Taylored Expressions blog OR the Taylored Expressions Store. Might I suggest the store so that you can go ahead and purchase them??? :) Anyway, I wanted to make a birthday party set and I had high expectations but of course, things failed miserably so I will have to try again later. However, I did come up with some other cute ideas that I think will work in the meantime.

For this set I wanted to make a fun pinwheel party gift that had a pencil attatched. I have seen these pinwheels on numberous websites and thought it would be fun to attatch them to pencils so that the kids would have something to take home and use! (To be honest, I was going to use pixie sticks but I can't find them anywhere!)

I also decided that it would be fun to add some silly string to this party set because what boy DOESN'T love silly string? Even my boy does and he is 25! I told him that he could use it AFTER I took the picture so he is pretty excited. Ok...I'm off topic again.

Finally, I made a card to go with the set. I left the sentiment off so that I could use it as an invitation, a thank you, or an actual Birthday card. I plan on stamping something inside, it just depends on what I finally decide on. I colored the image using my SU! markers. I then added the glitter from the Key Ingredients kit to the frosting. I love the look it has! I think everything else about this card is pretty self-explanatory. Let me know if you have any questions!

Well, it's time I call it a night...er...morning. I have to be at school by 7 tomorrow morning for a meeting and I am not looking forward to waking up! I usually don't have school on Friday's so I am definitely feeling bitter about this one. :D To all you teachers out there who go to school every Friday, you have my sympathy. I have seriously turned into a Friday wimp. I grew up going to school every Friday but have loved this great luxury of having Friday's off! Anyway, I am whining again so I should go to sleep! Have a GREAT Friday girls! I look forward to the projects you create with the new stamps AND the new sketch!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #32 AND The Big Release!

Woohoo! The time is finally here! Taylor VanBruggen has just released her brand new stamp line called Stamp a Sweet Impression over at her store: Taylored Expressions. Don't delay! Go there NOW! :D That IS a command! Hehe! You are definitely not going to want to miss these stamps! They are such high quality stamps and they are cuter than can be! :D To kick off the new release she has also decided to post her Friday Cupcake Challenge sketch early AND she will be unveiling the new Top Chef Competition!

This week's sketch was so much fun to work with! I had a blast trying to figure out which image would look the best and which paper I should use. All of the materials you see on this card (besides the ink) is from the Halloween Key Ingredients kit that Taylor is selling too! :D I am not sure if you can tell in the picture but the card stock has a really neat texture to it! The thing I love the most about the kit is how well everything coordinates! I can't tell you how much I struggle with coordination and this kit makes it extremely easy! One thing other thing that I want to point out is that I LOVED Jen's idea to use the black glitter on this little cupcake vampire's cape (you have to see her card) so I decided to try it too! Thanks for the inspiration Jen! :D Anyway, this card is pretty self-explanatory. I watercolored the image, added a brad (from the kit) as his cape closure, and glued the glitter on his cape. The vampire image and the sentiment are from the Spooky Sweets collection and the bat image is from the Frightful Night collection. Both sets are incredible!

Before you leave, head on over to Taylor's blog to see what all she has in store for us (literally...hehe)! Also, make sure you check out all of the other sneak peeks from the rest of the Baker's Dozen!

ETA: In all the excitement I COMPLETELY forgot to mention this week's Featured Cupcake Sampler! This week Taylor has chosen the fabulous Sankari! She is so sweet and super talented so make sure you hop on over to her blog as well! :D Sorry Sankari for almost forgetting about you!

Taylored Expressions Release Tonight!

Taylor is releasing her new stamp line tonight at midnight (EST) which means 10:00 here! :D Woohoo! I am always up that late so you can count on me being there! Also, to celebrate the release, Taylor is posting her Friday Cupcake Sketch EARLY! That means, at 10:00 tonight, you should check back here to see the card I made for it! It really is adorable! Ok...that makes me sound all braggy but I assure you that it is the stamps that make the card so stinkin' cute! :D I also have a fun birthday set that I will share with you either later tonight or tomorrow morning so stay tuned! :D I will see you all back here tonight!

Another Sneak Peek! :D

I still feel like I am floating on cloud 9 today! This has just been such a fabulous experience! Anyway, today's sneak peek is one I had hoped to show yesterday but somehow life got in the way! Don't ya just hate it when that happens! ;) So, do you want to see some other sneak peeks from the new Taylored Expressions Stamp a Sweet Impression line? You do??? Oh goodie! Hehe! :D

As most of you know, I teach 2nd grade and so I am always looking for fun, yet cheap things I can give to my students. Once I saw Taylor's images I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with them! I have been wanting to make bookmarks for them and what better time than Halloween??? So, that's what I did. I made 12 (I know...it's a small group) of them! The great thing is, I have them done early and now I can focus on other fun projects!

Here is a picture of all 12 of them. Pretty stinkin' cute huh? I colored them in with my SU! markers and used my punches for the base. The paper clips are just some jumbo ones that I picked up at Wal-Mart for super cheap!

I also decorated the back with the fun, yet simple sentiment of "Boo!" :D It makes me smile and I hope it makes 7 & 8 year olds smile too!

After I had created all of these fun bookmarks I then decided that I needed to put them in something. Of course my students are going to expect candy so I must give it to them! :D I created this little basket/box using the Halloween Key Ingredients Kit and then added the sentiment from the Spooky Sweets set and the ghost from the Frightful Night set. I have to admit that I do not have 12 of these made yet. It was kind of a final thought and I haven't found the time to finish them! I will let you know when I do though! :D

Before I close this post I do want to give you some more information about the Baker's Dozen Rotating Design Team along with the stamps and storage.

On top of a Senior Design Team, Taylor has also chosen a Baker's Dozen Rotating Design Team. The Rotating DT is made up of 6 extremely talented women and you will not want to miss their creations! Check them out!

Rotating Design Team

I also want to mention that these stamps are unmounted, deeply etched rubber AND they are mounted on EZ Mount cling cusion. All you have to do is stick them on an acrylic block and stamp! They are so fantastic too! They stamp such clear images. Oh, I almost forgot, they are die cut! Woohoo! Doesn't that make life easy???

Now the storage is SO cool. It is such an ingenious idea! They are packaged on a laminated binder sheet for easy storage! How great is that??? There are so many possible ways to store them that way! Taylor has a few storage ideas posted on her blog today AND she will be selling some storage units at her store so make sure you check that out too!

Well, that's it for now! Thanks for sticking with me through this extremely long post! I hope that you all are as excited about these new stamps as I am! Take care and enjoy your day!

((hugs))
