Paper Pretties Monday!

Good evening! Today has been one long day for me. We had conferences after school and I didn't get home until 7:30. I have also had a migraine all day long so that didn't help things much. Anyway, I still wanted to share this card with you tonight. I used my Cuddle Me Sophia set from the Paper Pretties store to make this card! I just love how cute she looks! The paper is another sample from The Paper Studio set that I got over the weekend. I used Jen del Muro's Sketch for You to Try as well! Well, that's all I will write tonight. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow. I have conferences from 8-3 and once I am done, we are headed for Iowa. I am really looking forward to seeing my family! Take care!

One other side note:

Cutie Pie Contest!!

How would you like to be Paper Pretties Cutie Pie? I thought you would!! All you have to do is make a card using your Paper Pretties stamps and upload it to the Cutie Pie Contest gallery on the Paper Pretties forum, and Christie will chose a winner from the entries. Besides being able to call yourself a Cutie Pie, you will also win the entire release!! You have until November 30th at 8pmCDT to get your entries in!! Good luck!!

Also, on Monday December 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. Paper Pretties Monday...err...Tuesday!

So I may just be a tad late for my usual Paper Pretties Monday post! Hehe! I promised to be back last night and then completely forgot! I am such a ditz some days! Anyway, I had the card finished but had failed to take a picture so my wonderful husband offered to (while I worked on a project for school) and he did a fabulous job! I think it turned out better than mine usually do and he only took ONE! He even edited the picture and it looks really good (in my opinion)! Anyway, when I asked him what he thought of this card he said "I like the coloring but the background paper looks like something my grandma would wear!" I was appalled because I happen to think that this Bella Rose paper is gorgeous! Now it actually does surprise me that I like it because I would normally agree with him! Haha! This paper is just different I guess! Anyway, he said that I should send it to his grandma so I probably will! Hehe! She could probably use a pretty card! :)

For those of you who are wondering, this amazing image is from the Paper Pretties set "Simply Special". I couldn't find a place to squeeze on a sentiment without it looking too cluttered so I stamped it on the inside. The layout I used is Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge from Friday! I absolutely love this layout and wish I had some bigger brown brads to use on the side but have to make due with what I have!

Well, that's all I have to share with you tonight! Stop back tomorrow for another hand made creation from me! :) Until then, enjoy!

Paper Pretties Monday!

Today's card is one that I made for the Paper Pretties Stampin' in Your Jammie's party (which I was actually unable to attend). This image is the newest Stamp of the Month! Isn't Sophia just adorable? She reminds me so much of some of my 2nd grade girls! Anyway, the challenge was to make a gate fold card so that's what I did! :)

Don't forget that Paper Pretties is having a HUGE sale right now! Make sure you stop by the store so that you can check it out!

Also, Paper Pretties has also just started a new blog called "The Paper Clip". There you can get all the latest news and updates! How exciting huh???

Little Drummer Boy Gift Tag

It's Paper Pretties Monday in my neck of the woods and I am so thrilled to share this adorable gift tag with you! Isn't this the cutest stamp ever??? This is one of the many fabulous new releases from Paper Pretties called Pa Rum Pa Pa Pum. I have to say that this is one of my favorites yet! The Little Drummer Boy is one of my absolute favorite Christmas songs though so that could be why! Anyway, I used the new Top Note Bigz Die (which is fantastic) from Stampin' Up! as the tag. To layer the colors I just trimmed off the perforated portion of the creamy caramel piece. I then gave it a dirty look by running the cardstock all over the creamy caramel ink pad. I just love how this turned out! My husband was really impressed with it too! :) Well, thanks so much for stopping by this morning! I had lots of time to stamp this weekend so I will have lots to share this week! I am so excited about some of them too! Until then, take care!

Ink: Black, SU! Markers, Creamy Caramel, Brocade Blue

Pretties Monday!

Good morning! It's Paper Pretties Monday and I couldn't be happier with this adorable card! :) I just love how these bright colors all go so well together! I pulled the color combination from this piece of My Mind's Eye dp. The sketch is also one that Danielle posted over on the Paper Pretties forum last week. I completely forgot about it and decided to use it for this week! :) Doesn't little Sophia just look so excited to be going to school? That's definitely not how I am feeling this morning! Haha! Anyway, make sure you check out the Paper Pretties store to see this stamp along with all the other fabulous stamps for sale there! I will be back tomorrow to show you a new card, until then, have a wonderful day!

Paper Pretties Monday!

Isn't Cooper just adorable??? I love this Paper Pretties image so much! He looks so happy to be going to school! Hehe! If only all my students were that happy to go to school! Anyway, I used my stash of My Mind's Eye dp for this card and I pulled the colors from it. I then colored Cooper with my SU! markers and popped the image panel up on dimensionals. This card came together fairly quickly because of how simple it was. Oh, I almost forgot! I used the OCC sketch challenge from Saturday on this card! Well, that's it for now! I have to run! Have a great Monday everyone!

Paper Pretties Monday!

Good evening everyone! Today's card is one I made using the newly released Pick of the Patch set from Paper Pretties! Isn't Cooper just adorable? I love him in that little pumpkin costume! Make sure that you check out the rest of the set along with the other new releases! They are not to be missed! Anyway, to make this card I used one of the old Splitcoast sketches for this card. I pulled out my Haiku dsp to match the Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie color combination too. I just love these two colors together and I think they make wonderful Halloween colors! I also colored Cooper with my Stampin' Up! Markers. I added some black accents with the ribbon and brads and finished the card by paper piercing along the sides. Overall I really like how this card turned out. I didn't have room for a sentiment on the front so I stuck one on the inside! Well, that's all I have for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Late Paper Pretties Monday!

Woohoo! I am finally able to post a card! I have to tell you that it has been a rough past couple of weeks. On top of getting this nasty cold, I ended up getting the stomach flu! Yesterday, about 2 hours into the school day, I started feeling really sick to my stomach and at about 12:00 I ended up sprinting to the bathroom (I am lucky enough to have one in my room) to throw up. Not fun! Especially when the kids KNOW! Anyway, after that humiliating experience, I had to try to find a sub. Let me tell you, it's impossible to find one at 12:00 p.m. because most normal people have made plans! That meant two things for me, I stick it out for the next 4 hours or my (fabulous) teaching partner takes my class. Lucky for me, she's amazing and she offered to combine for the rest of the day! I was then able to go home and sleep (well...when I wasn't getting sick) and recover! Today I am feeling better than ever! It's amazing how fast and hard it can hit you and then how quick you can recover from it! So, where have I been? That's where!

This card is one that I made using the ADORABLE Paper Pretties set, Cuddle Me. Oh, did I mention that I was asked to be a Paper Pretties guest designer??? How awesome is that??? I couldn't be more thrilled about it! :D Anyway, I used the Paper Pretties sketch challenge that Danielle issued over on the Paper Pretties forum and couldn't be happier with how this card turned out. I just love this color combination and thinks little Sophia looks adorable in blue! I used my Urban Garden dsp for the background and accented it with some chocolate ribbon and brads. I colored the image with my Stampin' Up markers and popped it up with dimensionals. This was a fun card to make and I love how easily it came together!

I'm Alive!

Hi everyone! It's me, the sick one! First off I just want to say THANK YOU! The get well wishes just kept coming and coming! You ladies are so great! I actually can't believe how sick I got. I guess I was due because I literally had not been sick in over a year! In college I was sick all of the time so I am not sure what happened last year! I guess the relief of completing college was just so refreshing that I never felt stressed. Who would have known??? Anyway, I am still recovering. It has moved to my chest and my students are always afraid I might cough up my lungs, but they are getting used to it! Haha! I haven't felt up to creating anything yet but I do have a swap that I can finally share! I took part in a fun Paper Pretties swap (my first swap ever) and really like how my card turned out. I think I can finally share it since almost all of the girls have received theirs now. Without further ado...here it is.

Beach Bum!

Good morning! Today will be a quick post because I do not have a lot of time. I just wanted to share this card that I made using my new Paper Pretties stamps. I just love this fun little guy. He makes me want to hold on to summer for a little bit longer! I made this card for the sketch challenge that Danielle posted over on the Paper Pretties forum. Her sketch is a square but I don't have any square envelopes and I wanted to mail this card so I made it the normal card size. I colored the image using my SU! markers and I added crystal effects to highlight certain areas. Well, that's all I have time to share today! Take care!

A Baby Shower Thank You!

No, no! I am NOT pregnant! Haha! I just made this card for the Paper Pretties August Stampin' in Your Jammie's party. We were challenged to make a party item of some sort so I decided, since I didn't have very many PP stamps yet, that I would make a baby shower thank you card! I think it turned out pretty cute? What do you think? Well, sorry for not showing anything new. I promise I will tomorrow! I have lots made, I just haven't had a chance to take any good pictures. School has kept me SO busy! Anyway, I do apologize and I do promise it will get better as things start to calm down. However, I sadly won't be able to use my Friday to create because for once we have school! Apparently we had to schedule a day on Friday (I know...I shouldn't complain since most teachers go EVERY Friday) due to the fact that we needed to add 4 late starts because of slick roads in the mornings. Now, I will admit that I am thankful it is this week because our week won't seem any longer than usual, I just would rather go on a Monday. Ok, I'm done whining! Haha! Sorry, just had to wallow in my own self-pity! :D Thanks for being such faithful readers AND listeners! I am glad I have someone to talk to! Hehe. Well, until tomorrow (morning), take care!

I Forgot to Share this Card!

And since I didn't have a chance to stamp AND it's the Paper Pretties Stampin' In Your Jammies Party tonight, I am going to share this card! :D I made it quite a while ago and completely forgot about it!

Anyway, I am not going to give much for details tonight because I am exhausted and I need to eat supper! My husband, his sister, and I just hiked Temple Canyon and we are wiped! We had to cross the freezing cold river about 8 times in order to reach our destination. We think it was about a 9 mile hike too. The reason why we went is because my hubby took some of the youth boys there this weekend and somewhere along the way he lost his blackberry phone! Now...that is not a cheap phone, so we decided to go looking for it. We had about given up and were heading back when I looked down while crossing the river and saw something shining. Low and behold, there it was, on the bottom of the river! We couldn't believe it! We had prayed that we would find it and God did not disappoint! Now we are just hoping it will work OR that insurance will cover it! I guess that's all for now! Take care!

Black & White With a Splash of Color!

This is the card that I made for the Paper Pretties black & white with a splash of color challenge that was issued during the last pajama party! Now...as I mentioned before...we are only given an hour so I had to book it! I didn't realize how long I tend to work on a card until that first challenge! Haha! I was so stressed! Anyway, I really love the way this card turned out! I am not sure if you can tell but the dp has glitter all over it! Thanks Leanne for giving me a piece of it! :D It was perfect for this challenge! Alright...well that's all I have to share for right now! I am in the middle of cleaning and once I finish here I am off to school to work in my classroom! Fun fun! See you all tomorrow!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #28

Good morning! I am happy to say that I have a new and wonderful card to share with you today! :D It's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Challenges and, as always, she has another fabulous sketch for us! For my card I used my brand spankin' new Paper Pretties Cuddle Me set! I just love her! She is so adorable! I watercolored her with my markers and blender pens and I think it turned out cute! I am not sure I like the rounded corners but it is too late to change it so I will just have to deal! I also wasn't sure what to do about the little circle and then I remembered that Jen Tapler had sent these fun accents to me and I knew it would work perfectly! I think this image works for a baby card...right?

Make sure you head on over to Taylor's blog to see not only her card but this week's featured stamper! This week Taylor has picked Sarah! She has a fabulous blog: Scrampin' Mama! I am sure you won't be disappointed! :D

Some Exciting News!

Good Saturday morning everyone! It is a great morning because a lot is happening! :D Nick finally got his truck today and it is sweet! It's a very sharp looking truck and I can tell that he is happier than a clam! That just makes me so happy too! I also am excited because my parents and my younger brother (who's not so young) are coming to visit today! Woohoo! They are coming all the way from Iowa! I miss them so much! The last piece of exciting news is probably the most exciting! Here it is. Last night I found out that I was the Paper Pretties Cutie Pie! :D Christie asked us to send in our submissions and she picked mine! You can see the card she picked here! I was so shocked! It was a dream come true for me! I am so excited about these new stamps too! Anyway that was huge for me and the party last night was a blast! Here is one of the projects that I made during it! Charmaine challenged us to make a 3-D creation and since I stink at 3-D creations I had to go with this simple seed packet holder (yes I know that is a kool-aid packet)! I really like how it turned out even though my hands were shaking the entire time I was working on it. We only had an hour to work on it so I was quite nervous!

Well, that's all I have to share right now! I hope that you all have a wonderful day! Nick and I are going to go to Colorado Springs so that I can go to some teacher stores. Leanne also told me that one of the teacher stores has a stamp store in the parking lot so...you know...I may just possibly peek my head in there! :D Hehe! Until tomorrow! Have a good one!

A Triple Play! :D

Good afternoon ladies! Sorry for the late post but as you know I have not had any mojo the past couple of days so I have not made any cards. I finally did one though and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It's not too bad for having lost my creativity! Anyway, to make my life easier, I combined THREE challenges! Haha!
I used yesterday's SCS sketch challenge, today's ways to use it challenge which was to only use scraps, and the Paper Pretties challenge to use polka dots! Well, lucky for me the sketch was a lot of fun, I have TONS of scraps, and I use polka dots all the time! :D It definitely made this card a lot easier to make! Here is how I did it. I stamped the image in StazOn ink and used my SU! markers, aqua painter, and blender pen to color it in. I then ticket corner punched the corners and added some brads. I popped the whole thing up on dimensionals for a more finished look. The ribbon was the last addition and I really love it down there at the bottom! I think that's really all there is to this card. The dp is more of the yummy My Mind's Eye dp and the ribbon is SU!'s wide regal rose grosgrain (we all know that's my favorite kind). I hope that everyone has a fantastic day! My parents and my brother will be here on Saturday so I had better get some cards made so that I have some to post! Stop back by tomorrow for another Cupcake Challenge!

Buttons Everywhere!

Good morning! It certainly is a great morning here! I just found out that my friend Megan is pregnant and I couldn't be more excited for here! (Hi Megan! *waving*) I don't know why but hearing that just made my day wonderful! :D She is going to be a fantastic mother! Today I am going to be in my classroom working with Leanne on some stuff so I probably won't be stamping again. I did get a card made last night but I have lost my mojo and I really don't like it. I am not a huge fan of today's card either though. Hopefully things start to get better...soon! Anyway, I made this card for the Paper Pretties forum challenge which was to use buttons on a card. I never use buttons and Ashley's Brainwave sketch challenge. I am not sure why so I struggled with this one. It just didn't come together like I had hoped. I finally decided to just use a lot of buttons! Haha! After I got it finished I realized that it fits the Verve button challenge on Splitcoast too! Woohoo! 3 challenges finished in one card! That's awesome! :D Anyway, I have to keep today's post fairly short because the boy I tutor should be here any minute! I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Sunday Morning!

I love Sundays! They are just so amazing! I love that we have the freedom to go to church and worship our God! That is something that I am the most thankful for! Anyway, I wanted to post really quick before I went to church this morning so this is going to be short! I made this card for the 2 sketches for you challenge but I just realized that I didn't get it in on time! Oh well, life goes on! I really liked the sketch this week. It was a lot of fun to work with! For this card I used my new Basic Grey paper and pulled the colors from it. I watercolored my watering can from the Paper Pretties set "Simply Special". I just love this image! It is so pretty! As a final touch I added some ribbon and stuck my new prima flowers right on top! The sentiment was then stamped below! Thanks so much for stopping by this morning! I hope that everyone has a wonderful Sunday! I am going to work in my classroom this afternoon so I probably won't get a lot of stamping done!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #26

Good morning ladies! Can you believe that it is Friday already? I certainly can't! This week flew by so fast! Well, to start your morning off, check out Taylor's fantastic sketch! :D I absolutely loved it and I know you will too!

Since the layout of this card is so fun I knew it had to have some fun colors so I used LOTS of them! I pulled out my polka dot dp from My Mind's Eye and used the colors in it. I love how perfect the SU! colors match it too! I also pulled out my hilarious Paper Pretties stamp set and went to work coloring in this cute little chick! I know I have felt that way before and I am sure most of you have too! :D Now, the only thing on this card I would fix would be the flat image. I wish now that I would have cut out the chick and popped him up so that it wouldn't look so flat. I tried to fix it by adding a shadow around the outside of him but I am not sure I like that either. I don't know, what do you think?

Make sure that you head over to Taylor's blog to check out the sketch, her card, as well as this week's featured stamper's card! For this week Taylor picked the fabulous Denise aka: peanutbee and I was so excited! I have admired Denise's work for a while now and she definitely deserved it because her card was fantastic! :D Make sure you check out her blog too! She is very talented!

Want to see more??? Sure you do! :D You should also check out the other girls' cards as well! You won't want to miss them!

I hope that you hope that you find time to play today! Remember, Taylor will pick the card that she feels to be the most creative and that person will be next week's featured stamper! She will also choose a random card to receive this week's give-away! :D Have fun playing! I will be back in a bit with another card!

A Fun Sketch Challenge!

Today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast was so much fun that I had to make TWO!

For this first card I combined the sketch challenge with Danielle's inspiration challenge over on the Paper Pretties forum. Danielle gave us this amazing comforter to use as our inspiration and she asked us to use the colors brocade blue, close to cocoa, sage shadow, and very vanilla. I wasn't so sure about putting these colors together until I actually did it! Don't they just look fabulous together? I think so! I used some of my My Mind's Eye dp for the background and the little flowery strip. I was amazed at how close the colors actually are when compared to the SU! colors. They are almost identical! I then decided to pull out my little Paper Pretties watering can and color it in using my SU! markers and blender pens! I LOVE the effect that it gives! Anyway, I finished up this card by adding some pearls from my Pretties kit and some very vanilla taffeta ribbon!

For this next card I used my new Unity stamps! The tree and the bird are from the Giggle Grove set and the sentiment is from the Cupcakes A'La Yummy set. I used more of the My Mind's Eye dp along with some of this fantastic ribbon that I got from Taylored Expressions. I added some Taylor Tots to the tree, paper pierced along the sides and punched out my sentiment for the finished look! Oh, I also want to mention that the tree and the bird are paper pieced too!

Thanks so much for stopping by this afternoon! I will be back in a little bit with some awards and possibly another card!
