Smile!

Good morning! Today is a great day to smile! We are going to Pueblo this morning to get some groceries and other things AND when we get back, I am going to be posting some BLOG CANDY!!! First though, I am going to tell you about this card.

Kristina posted a really neat color inspiration challenge this week and I couldn't wait to play! I wanted to branch out with this card and try a different style. There is absolutely no stamping involved on this card. Now, since the inspiration piece is from IKEA, I wanted to add some metal to my card so I grabbed some of my new metal embellishments that I received from winning one of Jen Tapler's SOA contests. The light fixtures in this picture were what inspired me to do that. I put a piece of metal mesh as part of the background and added the smile sentiment which is actually silver, not black. I also wanted to add a little bit more dimension and remembered that the Great Swap Girls had posted a challenge to use the crimper on a card so I grabbed it, crimped the piece of old olive, and created a little belly band. I like the way this card turned out. It's different, but that's ok! I hope you all enjoy your Saturday mornings! Stef posted a really neat inspiration challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com and I hope I get to play but we will just have to wait and see! I will see you all when I get back!
