Just an update...

To see my Your Next Stamp card and sneak peek, scroll down!

With all the hype about the new Stampin' Up! policy I decided that I had better share where I am personally headed. The past few months have kind of been rough for us financially and I was already considering dropping my demonstrator-ship due to the fact that I don't have many "regular customers" and I was spending all the money on my own. It was starting to put a strain on my relationship with my husband, especially since we are in the process of building our house and NEED the money. The problem I was facing was the fact that I LOVED having all of the added benefits and the 20% discount was pretty nice too. However, after they posted their new policy, my decision was made. I have officially decided to drop my position as demonstrator at the end of September and move on to the next step in my life. I love the products that Stampin' Up! sells but have realized that 20% isn't enough to pay the bills, especially when I live in a small community and can't get very many sales outside of my own home! I have also truly been blessed to be given the opportunity to be on so many wonderful design teams and, to be honest, they have made me the stamper I am today. I have pushed and challenged myself due to the teams I have been on. I have also LOVED experimenting with other stamp companies and their fabulous products. I can not change who I have become and Stampin' Up! would require me to do that. I can not have the personal relationships with the owners of Stampin' Up! like I can with the owners of the companies I design for. I have built so many friendships through this hobby and most of it had absolutely nothing to do with Stampin' Up! I did meet some fantastic women through the two workshops that I held but I have my friend Leanne to thank for that, not Stampin' Up! Now, I know some of you are not feeling the same way as me and I don't want you to feel that I am completely destroying the SU! name. If anything, others have already done that for me. I will always love the Stampin' Up! products and it will be hard for me to give them up but I feel that it must be done. For those of you who have placed an order through my online website, please know that I appreciated them VERY much! I am sorry to those of you who will have to find another demonstrator but there are SO MANY fabulous demonstrators out there who will remain with Stampin' Up and you can find them on the Stampin' Up! website! :) To those of you who were affected by the new Stampin' Up! policy, good luck! I know that I have personally made the right decision for me and I know others will do the same no matter what they choose! :)

ETA: If you are planning on leaving me a rude comment then don't even bother because I will just delete it. I am sorry but this is a blog where I share my feelings and I honestly don't want to have my feelings hurt by someone who feels differently.

I know nothing about SU's policy--never been a demonstrator, just a customer. :-) It's hard to make those kind of decisions, but I'm glad you found peace with the choice. Keep making/posting your beautiful works of art!

Here's to new adventures in stamping beyond SU! - I too am leaving at the end of the month. In all honesty I just couldn't represent SU when I felt the new IDA went against my own personal beliefs and freedom of expression.
Good luck in your stamping endeavors wherever they may lead you.

I just stumbled on to your blog and read your post regarding putting your role of demo on the back burner. I said a special prayer for you. Your creative will continue to inspire others, just on a different level. Remember when He closes doors He also opens others.

Good for you!!
It's hard to make all those decisions but if this is right for you and your husband, that's way more important than SU.
And there is so much out there...
Love checking your blog, take care, Anja

I actually chose to leave SU for financial reasons in August and I am so glad that I did because after hearing this new policy I would've left anyway. I am so proud that you made this decision! You know I LOVE your work and would hate to see your creativity stifled.

If anybody did think of leaving a rude comment, who do they think they are??!! This is YOUR blog, YOUR life, and YOUR decision. You put your heart and soul 'out there', to share your beautiful creations, and nobody is in a position to stand in judgment of your choices. Rant over! Love your creations, and look forward to seeing lots more.

I totally agree with you. Funny because I just called Stampin up and dropped my demoship too.
