Your Next Stamp April Release Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Your Next Stamp April New Release Blog Hop!  We have some GROOVY projects to share with you today using some ADORABLE new stamps and dies!!!  The DT has had a blast playing with all of the new goodies, and we know you will too!

The hop starts here so everyone should be in the right place! :)

Isn't that kitty hilarious??? I just love him/her! This set is called "Purrrfect Day Cat" and is one of the newest sets from Franfou designs. When I saw him I knew immediately that it would be a favorite from my daughter. She loves her kitties and was instantly excited once she saw my card! :)

I colored the kitty with my copic markers, trying to give him the feel that he was a hairy guy. I then cut him out and popped him up on dimensionals. The rest of the card is pretty straight forward! I used some fun paper from Echo Park called "This & That" and embellished with some "manly" twine.

As always we have some fabulous prizes to be won!  Just make sure you leave comments on all of the DT blogs for your chance to win!  Winners will be announced on the YNS Blog Saturday, April 27th.

Karen is also offering some amazing specials at the Your Next Stamp store!  You will receive 15% off your order using code YNSAPRIL2013 valid April 24th-April 28th.  Plus, she has loaded up the YNS Bargain Bin and Retired Stamp Bin with awesome deals!

April YNS Sneak Peek Day!

Good morning everyone! Are you excited for another Your Next Stamp release? I hope so 'cause it's a big one! :)

For my card I decided to pull out one of our new border sets. This is a really fun set and I couldn't wait to play with it. Aren't those flowers just so cute??? I stamped them on the card and colored them with my Copic markers. The sentiment is also a sneak peek from a different set that I'm not showing you yet! :)
To accompany my card, I decided I wanted to make a bookmark so I stamped the flowers using the baby wipe tutorial and then the zig zag stripe on each side of it. I used the Fishtail Banner die set to cut out the bookmark and crocheted a sweet little flower to embellish the top!
Here is the set all together!

I hope you enjoyed today's sneak peeks! Stop by the YNS blog to see more!

YNS Tasty Tuesday: Welcome!

This month's YNS Tasty Tuesday is a yummy one! I love the design and the colors of those cookies! So cute! So for this card I decided I wanted to use the idea of the flowers and the color combination. I took the challenge quite literally I guess!

I used the Happy Home set and embossed it with white embossing powder on some chocolate chip card stock. I then layered onto some baja breeze and white card stock as well. I added some old flowers that I've had in my stash for years and wrapped some fun twine around the card!

Make sure you stop by the YNS blog to see what everyone else has created for today's card!

YNS: After the Release!

Good morning everyone! I hope you really enjoyed this week's Your Next Stamp release and blog hop because you get to see more! :) Today the DT is celebrating by having an After the Release Day! How fun! And what better way to celebrate than by sharing with you a fun and Springy card? I told you I had Spring on the brain.

For my card I used the new and adorable set called "Blossom". Isn't she just so cute??? I love that she is jumping in the air with joy. Anyway, I colored her using my Copic markers and sponged the background using my inked background technique. To create the sentiment, I pulled out the awesome "Letter Board" die again (I seriously can't get enough of it). I then applied the sentiments onto the banners that I cut with the "Fishtail/Banner" die set. I embellished the card with some Divine Twine and some dew drops and the card was finished! I have been loving these long cards lately! There is just so much room to write inside of them! :)

Anyway, I sure hope you enjoy today's card! Stop by the YNS blog and the rest of the design team to see what they've come up with! I know you won't be disappointed!

Onto my project:

For my card I used the brand new stamp set called "Twinkie". Again, baby on the brain! :) I pulled some old Cosmo Cricket paper and sponged the edges of all my layers. I stamped and colored "Twinkie" using my gray Copic markers and my white Prismacolor Pencil! I love the look this has on Kraft cardstock! I then cut the little lamb out and popped it up on dimensionals! To finish my card, I added some pretty seam binding ribbon and some sweet little pearls!

YNS Sneaky Peek: Layla!

Good morning everyone! Today I am SUPER excited to share this sweet sneak peek with you today from Your Next Stamp and today I've got baby on the brain! :) The minute I saw this adorable image, I fell in love! Her name is "Layla" and she is as cute as can be. I wanted to create a long card using her so I made the card so that it would fit perfectly into a standard size mailing envelope. I wanted to create a 3D effect so I punched out 4 small circles and then popped the green panel up on dimensionals. I then punched 4 more circles from some turquoise card stock and glued it straight to the card base. I also pulled out the new Letterboard die that YNS has come out with to die cut the word "baby"! I love this die and have had so much fun playing with it! For the little banner, I used the YNS "Fishtail/Banner Die" set and only partially inked the sentiment so that it just read "Sweet Little". I then added some ribbon, rhinestones, and a clip and the card was complete!

Make sure you stop by the YNS blog as well as the rest of the YNS design team blogs to see what else is being peeked! :)

YNS Fun Friday: Birthday Butterfly

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Your Next Stamp Fun Friday! :) I just love the challenges that Karen has for us every month! This month's Fun Friday challenge is called "Celebrate". We were to create a card that celebrated some sort of event whether it be a birthday, anniversary, or a special moment. Here is what I came up with!

I decided to think outside the box a little bit on this card so instead of pulling out a set that was design specifically for birthdays, I combined a few sets! I had wanted to play along with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch from this week and I thought the butterfly from the YNS set "Butterfly Love" would be perfect! I just LOVE this butterfly and think it's absolutely gorgeous! I decided to try something new and watercolor it with my Tim Holtz Distress inks. I really love the effect! After it dried, I cut it out and added some stickles to the wings to make them sparkle. For the rest of the card, I used some old Basic Grey paper (I can't remember the name) and some pretty satin ribbon. I cut out the circle on the front panel and popped it up on dimensionals to give it a fun look. I then die cut a circle out of the middle of the doily. I popped the butterfly up on dimensionals after restamping it and then embellished the card with some fun flowers and a beaded hat pin! The final touch was to use the "happy birthday" sentiment from the YNS set "Happy Birthday Mermaid".

So what do you think? It's a little bit different from the types of cards that I usually create but I really think it turned out to be a pretty card! If you want to play along with the Fun Friday challenge, we'd love to see what you create! Check out the YNS blog for more details! :)

Now, for those of you who saw yesterday's blog post, I bet you all are wondering what we found out about this baby! Well, it looks like we are going to have another little girl! We are so excited and know that Addison is going to make a great big sister! My due date is set for July 29th so that means I am almost half-way done with this pregnancy already! CRAZY! Anyway, I will be sure to keep you updated on that.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oldies But Goodies!

Good morning! This is going to be a quick post today because we have some really exciting things happening! Today we find out the gender of our 2nd baby! :) Yay! That's right, I'm pregnant again! I'm due at the end of July and am SO excited!

Anyway, over the weekend, my good friend Leanne came over and we made some cards. I pulled out some old SU! stuff and had a lot of fun just getting creative! The stamp set I used is a retired SU! set called "Wonderful Watercolors". I LOVE this set! The rest of the materials are actually so old that I'm not even sure what they are called anymore. Haha!

Well, that's it for today! I will let you know tomorrow what the gender of this little baby is!

YNS Tasy Tuesday: Spring is coming!

Welcome to another fun Tasty Tuesday over at Your Next Stamp! I just love the image that Karen has picked out for us this month!

Doesn't it just scream spring and summer??? I am SO sick of the snow! So since I need a little bit of spring in my step, I decided to play off of not only the fun colors but the spring theme!

Ta-da! What says spring more than a nice gentle rain and rainbows??? :) I absolutely LOVE when it rains here in the mountains. It smells heavenly and since we have so much sunshine, we are almost guaranteed to see a rainbow!

So on to the details! First of all, I used one of my favorite images from Your Next Stamp, "Rainy Day Fhiona" and the "Accessories" stamp sets.  I colored her with my Copic markers (emphasizing the shadows where the umbrella would be blocking the sun) and then cut her out and popped her up on the circles using dimensionals. For the sentiment, I used the Fishtail/Banner Die set, and trimmed off one of the ends so that it would fit better. I also wanted to try an old favorite technique with this card so that I could get the rainbow panel so I pulled out some re-inkers and my baby wipes! I LOVE the end result that it gave! The white panel was run through my swirls Cuttlebug folder and I embellished the card with some fun rhinestones that I colored with an orange Copic marker and some ribbon.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! :)

Stop by the Your Next Stamp blog to get all of the details on the challenge. If you decide to play along this month, you will be entered to win a YNS gift certificate! I really hope you decide to play, and feel free to leave a link to your project so I can check it out and leave you some love!

Thanks for checking out my card today! Be looking forward to some more fun spring projects in the near future! I'm on a Springy kick!

YNS Fun Friday: Relax!

Good morning all! It's a new month which means it's time for a new Your Next Stamp Fun Friday challenge and this month's theme is "vacation". When I think vacation, I think camping. That is what we did growing up and I still love doing it! However, I am not as fond of camping in a tent anymore, I much prefer a camper! That's why I thought this stamp set called "Happy Home" was PERFECT. It is a home on wheels! I wanted to try something a little bit different on my card so I embossed the image with black ep on kraft card stock and then just used my C-3 Copic marker to add some shading. It made for a quick card and overall, I really think it has a cool effect. It's definitely not something I would try a lot, because it is way outside my comfort zone, but it was fun to try! :) The dp used on this card is from an old Cosmo Cricket paper pack. I loved the stickers and thought they made such a fun sentiment for this card!

Well, that's it for my post today! It's my sweet husband's 30th birthday and so we are off to celebrate by spending the weekend away! I'm so looking forward to it! I hope you all enjoy your weekends as well! Take care!

YNS Tasty Tuesday: You're Spectacular!

This year we are doing something a little different with the Your Next Stamp challenges. We are starting something called the "Tasty Tuesday" challenge. Each month, Karen picks out a food related picture and we are then challenging all of you to be inspired by that photo to create a card or project! If you then decide to take part in the challenge, you will be entered into a monthly drawing for a $10 YNS gift certificate! To see more examples of what we've been inspired to create, stop by either the YNS blog, our Pinterest page, or our Facebook page! There's tons of great inspiration on those sights!

Now, onto this month's inspirational photo: Rainbow Pinwheel Cookies

Don't those look AMAZING? The colors alone are what inspire me the most but I also love the little touch of sprinkles!

For my card I wanted to use the new set called "Spectacular"! This is the girl version of "Spiffy Cool" and I just adore her! She completely reminds me of myself back when I was in elementary school and...dare I say...my nerdy days! I knew what colors I wanted to work with and found that the Cosmo Cricket "UPcycle" paper pack was perfect! Besides being inspired by the colors, I wanted to represent the sprinkles by both the little girl's dress, and the circles in the background so I found that this past week's Deconstructed Sketch challenge fit perfectly! I also added a little swirl to the circle behind the girl.

Well that pretty much sums up today's post! I hope you have time to participate in this month's challenge if you haven't already! Thanks again for stopping by!

Now, onto my projects for today!
First up, I created this gorgeous card using the fabulous stamp set called "Butterfly Love". The little butterfly is so sweet and whimsical and I think the sentiment that comes in the set is perfect! To create my card, I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and pulled some old Cosmo Cricket papers out. I paper pieced the butterfly's wings and embellished the card with some ribbon and brads! I love the end result!

For my second card, I used the ADORABLE new stamp set called "Spiffy Cool". When I saw this little dude, I couldn't get over how seriously cute he was! And let me tell you, he was tons of fun to color too! To add a little extra detail on him, I used some glossy accents to fill in his fun spectacles! It just adds so much to the card!

Here's a closer look at the image itself.

YNS Sneaky Peek Time!

It's sneak peek time at Your Next Stamp so you know what that means! New stamps and dies are being released this week! And let me tell you, this release is AWESOME! So, without further ado, here's a peek at one of the new stamp sets and dies that are coming!

The pennant stamp and the fishtail banner dies are part of this month's release and I just love them! I used the largest fishtail banner to go behind my image panel and one of the smallest to use for my sentiment!

To create my card I followed this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I took a little bit of liberty with the circle on the sketch but I really like the end result. I added a some bakers twine to the top of my pennant for a little extra touch and then colored in the flags with my Copic markers. After they were colored, I then added some stickles for a little shine. To embellish the card, I decided to add some pretty purple rhinestones.

Well thanks for stopping by! Make sure you stop by tomorrow because it's RELEASE DAY! There will be a fun hop with a couple of chances to win some prizes along the way! You won't want to miss it! Also, be sure to stop by the YNS blog today and tomorrow so that you can see what the rest of the design team is up to!

Little Love Bug

Good morning! It's Friday which means some of the Your Next Stamp team is taking part in this month's Fun Friday challenge! This month the theme is Love. Make sure to stop by the YNS blog and join in on the fun!

For my card, I really struggled because we are still in Iowa and since we weren't planning on being her this long, I didn't bring hardly anything but Christmas supplies! Luckily, I had this adorable little bug from the "Smiley Happy Critter Crew" set and a heart stamp from the "Get Well Accessories" set to work with! I then found some fun paper and punch-outs in my mom's small collection of goodies and went to work from there! :)

The paper and punch-outs I used were from a Best Occasions paper pack. I wanted to keep the card fairly simple so I used just a small piece of patterned paper for the background. I then colored the cute little ladybug with my copic markers, cut him out, and popped him up on the little circle punch-out. I then stamped the hearts on the punch-out and colored them in. I wrote "little" and used a punch-out for the word "love" and the letters for "bug" to create my sweet sentiment. I added some black brads to embellish the card and I was done! :)

So what do you think? Not to bad for having limited crafting supplies, huh? I hope you all enjoyed today's card and be sure to see what the other design team whipped up by heading over to the Your Next Stamp blog! Thanks for stopping by!

Exciting News!

Good morning everyone! Sorry for the long blog break, we've been on an extended trip to Iowa for the holidays and I have limited stamping supplies! However, I did bring enough to create a few cards and so here I am to share one with you! :) I must apologize for the quality of the photo though. Since I am visiting, I do not have my photo tent and it was very difficult for me to get a high quality picture. I promise they will be better in the future! Thanks for understanding!

Anyway, I have a few exciting things to share with you but I am going to tell you one of them today. The rest you will have to be in the dark in for a little while longer, sorry! So, without further ado, I am SO excited to announce that I have been chosen to join the Your Next Stamp design team permanently! I am over the moon excited, let me tell you! You all know how much I love their stamps so of course I was thrilled to be apart of the team again!

To celebrate, I decided to use this ADORABLE set (which may be my new favorite) called Smiley Happy Critter Crew Set One. Oh. My. Word. I just love it! I also decided to keep the card really simple so I just added a few strips of patterned paper along with some bakers twine and 3 little brads. I am still trying to master the art of simple so this card took surprisingly long to make! Haha! Someday maybe I will figure it out. We'll see!

Joining me are the following ladies. They are SO talented and you so you must go check out their amazing work!

Laura Nehring

Make sure you also stop by the YNS blog so that you can see all of the fantastic projects that are on there!

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning! I really hope you enjoy the card! I happen to love it, even though the picture does not do it justice! :)
